About the role
The HR Business Partner is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of HR across Seen Presents. You will work closely with the Head of Operations and senior leadership team, supported by our HR system and a Fractional HR Director.
We are looking for someone who can provide hands-on delivery while building strong relationships with managers and teams. The role covers the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to development, performance and employee relations. This is a key role within a growing business, suited to someone who is comfortable operating at pace, managing multiple priorities, and delivering a consistent, high-quality HR service in a standalone role. You will play a central role in ensuring people processes are implemented and maintained.
This is a standalone HR role, and you should be comfortable taking ownership of everyday HR matters while having the judgement to recognise when specialist or senior HR advice is required.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Advisory
· Be the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR matters. Including performance management, absence, probation, flexible working and other employee matters.
· Act as a trusted advisor to managers across the agency, coaching them on effective people management.
· Manage routine employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
· Identify higher-risk matters and escalate them to the Head of Operations and Fractional HR Director as necessary.
· Produce regular people reporting and analysis for the Head of Operations.
· Ensure a fair and consistent approach across the agency.
Talent Acquisition & Integration
· Support managers with recruitment, and once identified, drive the process including management and ownership of Team Tailor, screening candidates in some instances and regular checks on progress.
· Create and maintain effective hiring processes. Including training managers to interview and select people effectively. Support role design, job descriptions, interviews and offers.
· Own and maintain a scalable, efficient onboarding framework, including updating the handbook and ways of working.
· Ensure new joiners have an effective induction and probation process.
· Work with managers to help new employees become productive and integrated quickly.
Team Development
· Help to maintain the team culture as the business grows contributing to initiatives, team outings and moments and training/up-skilling to evolve and protect the culture of the agency
· Organise and implement agency-wide learning and development programmes alongside Head of Operations and HODs
· Work with HODs on their specialist training requirements.
· Support the delivery of the performance review cycle, including appraisals and progress checks.
· Support HODs in the management and ongoing updates to our competency framework documents per department including re-writing as required, reviewing industry salary bands, adapting based on team feedback and use etc
· Support on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), ensuring structure, clarity and documentation.
· Drive accountability and clarity around performance standards across the business.
· Support and coach managers to have effective, constructive conversations around performance and development.
· Support career development, progression and succession planning.
· Own the delivery of key people initiatives across the agency.
· Act as a visible and approachable presence across the business.
Operations and Compliance
· Own the day-to-day operation of CharlieHR (or equivalent) and our HR technology.
· Deliver and own all HR administration across the employee lifecycle (payroll, contracts, onboarding, changes, leavers).
· Ensure all employee records, HR systems and documentation are up to date and compliant.
· Maintain and continuously improve HR policies in line with UK legislation and business needs.
· Provide clear, pragmatic guidance aligned to UK employment law and ACAS best practice.
What We’re Looking For:
· 5+ years’ HR experience. CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent experience.
· Experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager or similar, ideally within a creative agency.
· Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
· Experience managing employee relations matters, confident handling cases end-to-end.
· Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Experience working with senior managers.
· A practical, commercial and people-focused approach.
· Comfortable working at pace within a fast-moving, evolving agency environment.
· Able to operate independently with sound judgement, knowing when to escalate and when to take ownership.
· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality work without relying on close oversight.
· Proactive, solutions-focused, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
